Fetal Health Abnormality
Receiving news that your baby has a serious or lethal health problem can be devastating. The professionals at Cherry Hill Women’s Center recognize that you and your family may be overwhelmed and saddened by this unexpected information of fetal health abnormality. Private counseling services will guide you through the initial stages of grief and offer ways to honor and commemorate your baby including footprints, arrangement of burial, cremation and/or memorial services. If prior genetic testing has not been performed, chromosomal analysis can be arranged at your request. If additional help and information are needed, Cherry Hill Women’s Center will provide support resources and counseling referrals for further assistance.
Cherry Hill Women’s Center has experience caring for patients who have a pregnancy diagnosed with anencephaly, Trisomy 13, 18, and 21, spina bifida, hydrocephalus, Klinefelter’s syndrome, dwarfism, oligohydramnios, Dandy Walker variant, and a range of other significant anomalies. If you are choosing to end your pregnancy on the basis of information provided by your doctor or genetic counselor, the goal of the Fetal Anomaly Program is to assist you during this difficult time.
